Director Micha Loewensohn has been appointed to head the Beit Zvi Drama School in Ramat Gan, replacing Gary Bilu, who retired recently. In an interview by Zippi Shohat, Loewensohn said that not only did he enjoy the idea of being surrounded by young people, the fact that "now I'll be dealing with the theater's future is both exciting and stimulating." Loewensohn is a versatile and subtle director who moves easily between musicals, spectaculars and the repertory stage. His productions have ranged from Singer and Copenhagen to The Producers. Among the rest, he headed the Israel Festival from 1994-2001. Bilu headed Beit Zvi, the largest drama school in Israel, from 1981.
