For the fourth consecutive year, the Mifal Hapayis Arts Council is spending NIS 750,000 on a project called Great Artists with Little Ones, the "little" here meaning youth. For 14 weeks, Jewish and Arab kids will meet separately for workshops with established and well known artists in the performing, plastic and media arts.
The initiative aims to show youth that there exists an accessible and rewarding world outside that of TV and the Net.
Participating artists include director Dalia Shimko, actress Salwa Nakura, film and videomaker Ali Nassar, photographer Moshe Shay and many others.
The weekly three-hour workshops will take place this year in Acre and Ramle. Previous workshop series have been held in Beersheba, Safed and Hatzor Haglilit, among the rest.
