Legendary drummer Jimmy Cobb will come to Israel in May to perform concerts in Tel Aviv and Haifa. Cobb, 80, has performed on such legendary jazz albums as Miles Davis's Kind of Blue (1959) and Sketches of Spain (1960). He also plays on Davis's Some Day My Prince Will Come and Porgy and Bess. Cobb also worked with other jazz legends, including Cannonball Adderley, Dizzy Gillespie, John Coltrane, Wynton Kelly, Stan Getz, Wes Montgomery and Bill Evans. Cobb will be accompanied by guitar player Peter Bernstein and trumpeter Eddie Henderson. Bernstein is also scheduled to give several concerts here in January. He'll perform at Tel Aviv's Enav culture center on the 23rd and at Jerusalem's Maabada club the following evening.
