The highlight of this Irish film tribute is a retrospective of the films of director Pat O'Connor.

There will be a celebration of Irish film at the country's largest cinematheques - Haifa, Jerusalem and Tel Aviv - throughout the month of March. The highlight of this tribute is a retrospective of the films of director Pat O'Connor, although the festival will spotlight only the movies he made in Ireland and not those he did in Hollywood. Among the films that will be included are Cal (1984), starring Helen Mirren as a widow who gets involved with a young IRA member; Circle of Friends (1995), a coming-of-age romance starring Minnie Driver; and Dancing at Lughnasa (1998), about a large Irish family, starring Meryl Streep.
