Culinary clash in the film
In The Hundred Foot Journey, Hassan Kadam (Manish Dayal) and his family, led by Papa (Om Puri), settle in the quaint village of Saint-Antonin-Noble- Val in the south of France and open an Indian restaurant called Maison Mumbai. But when Madame Mallory (Helen Mirren), the chef and owner of a Michelin-starred classic French restaurant, gets wind of it, her protests against the new Indian restaurant located 100 feet away from hers escalate to an all-out war.

Love in the Galilee
The annual Bein Hakramim Festival will take place as planned. Israelis are invited to relax during the five-day festival and enjoy round-the-clock concerts and tours, as well as plenty of activities for all ages.

The annual Dancing in the Vineyards festival takes place on Monday, inviting women to a “female empowerment” event that includes music and dance shows, dance circles and more at the ancient site of Shiloh. The main concert at 9:15 p.m. features Miri Mesika and Ofir Ben-Shitrit.

On Sunday in Tel Aviv, the Love and the Big City program for Tu Be’av offers fascinating insights into some of the city’s pioneers and historical sites, as well as landmark events that took place there. The 16 sites on the agenda appear on a map produced for the occasion. There will also be plenty of theatrical entertainment during the evening program, which kicks off at 6 p.m.
This year, there will be a 1 + 1 ticket offer for all heritage sites in and around Tel Aviv.

Dino mania
Take the kids to see the dinosaurs on the top level of the Azrieli Mall in Tel Aviv. Some 30 huge dinosaurs, 3D films and a slew of activities will keep kids happy in a safe and air-conditioned environment.
Children are invited to “feed,” hug and even ride the gigantic lifelike models.

Ships ahoy!
Haifa’s Madatech Museum invites kids and their parents to learn more about the marine world in the “Ships and the Sea” exhibition, which arrived recently from Finland. Tmuna Theater’s Intimadance Festival presents dance makers from the 1990s, alongside the current charge of local choreographers, to juxtapose the differences and perhaps similarities between them.

Israeli singer-songwriter Maya Izkovitz returns to Israel for one concert after receiving her Golden Album for her first album, Safe & Sound. Izkovitz, who lives in New York, writes in English and is recording her second album.

Puppets galore
The Train Theater’s International Puppet Festival – Jerusalem invites residents from the South to attend the performances and activities free of charge. Night at the museum
The Israel Museum, Jerusalem, has added an extra night of late hours. Beginning in August, the museum will remain open until 9 p.m. on Thursdays, in addition to Tuesdays and Wednesdays. One of the main attractions, “Big Bambú, 5,000 Arms to Hold You” by Doug and Mike Starn in the Billy Rose Art Garden, will be open for evening climbs of the beautifully illuminated art installation, offering a breathtaking view of the Jerusalem skyline.
