Sahar leaves Hap TA for Auxerre

Ben Sahar hasn't even celebrated his 22nd birthday yet, but he has already joined his eighth club after agreeing to a season-long loan to French club AJ Auxerre.
Sahar scored 16 goals in 34 league appearances at Hapoel Tel Aviv last season, but RCD Espanyol, which paid Chelsea around one million euros for his services two years ago, was still not interested in having him back. The Spanish side agreed to let him go to Auxerre, which has the option to make the move permanent next summer.
Auxerre were delighted to secure Sahar’s signature, describing him as a “talented young player” and saying that he is “considered as one of the stars of the future in Israeli football.”
“I’m very happy and excited to be playing for a big name in world soccer,” Sahar said. “I hope I can continue to make progress. The French league is a good league in which to develop and now all that is left to do is to work hard.”
Since being signed by Chelsea as a youth player in 2006, Sahar has played at QPR and Sheffield Wednesday of the English Championship, at Portsmouth in the English Premier League and at Dutch club De Graafschap.
He went on to spend a season in Espanyol after moving away from Chelsea before playing a year at Hapoel.
