Satellite television provider YES has acquired the rights to Jay Leno's new NBC talk-show The Jay Leno Show and will broadcast the first episode at 10 p.m. Wednesday on the YES Stars Comedy channel - less than 48 hours after it is aired in the US. This means that the Israel broadcast of the show that made Leno famous, The Tonight Show - now hosted by Conan O'Brien - will be aired at 8:45 p.m. Although it, too, opens with a monologue, The Jay Leno Show differs from The Tonight Show in that it will include less guests and more skits. Leno's famous table will also be absent, lending the set a more laid-back feel. The guest list opening week of the program brings with it several notables, including Jerry Seinfeld, Tom Cruise, Michael Moore, Drew Barrymore, Eric Clapton and Robin Williams.
