The Sugar Daddy coffee shop makes cookies that are a cut above the rest.

Even though the name may conjure up thoughts of something slightly less innocent, Sugar Daddy is a safe haven for those who like to indulge in the sweeter things in life. A relative newcomer to the Tel Aviv coffee shop/bakery scene, opening just three months ago, Sugar Daddy in the heart of the city is quickly making a name for itself and building up a clientele who simply cannot get enough of the eclectic menu.
The atmosphere at Sugar Daddy is relaxed yet funky. One large wooden table takes up most of the room in the small space and lends itself well to those who want to read the newspaper over a cup of coffee and talk about it with the person next to them.
The interior wall doubles as the menu and an artistic display of the latest cookie varieties, which change weekly, as well as the old favorites. The main focus at Sugar Daddy are the sweet treats. It is the only place in Israel that specializes in homemade boutique cookies, separating itself from hundreds of other patisseries and bakeries by constantly changing and adapting the selection it offers.
The cookies are not the standard American-style large, soft variety. They are small and elegant, more like a biscuit you would serve with a hot drink. Some of the more unique cookie varieties include chocolate with sea salt or chili, lemongrass and ginger, and hazelnut with cardamon. The classic chocolate chip flavors are available, as well as a long list of other more unusual recipes.
Sugar Daddy’s cookies also cater to a wide range of dietary needs, such as sugar-free, gluten-free or made with whole wheat flour. A wide selection of savory cookies is also available for those who don’t want to overindulge in the sweet offerings. There are plenty of other specialties available as well.
Rocky road, an Australian delicacy consisting of marshmallows, peanuts and cherries covered in rich thick chocolate, is not to be missed.
The prices are reasonable, and the young couple who run the place give it a homey vibe while making their own unique presence felt.
