The third Kfar Shmaryahu Chamber Music Festival, a successful annual event in an upscale Tel Aviv suburb, will take place this year from June 4 to 6. The program features six concerts to be held in private homes, including that of the Polish ambassador, as well as outdoor events and at the Weil Auditorium.
German clarinet player and conductor Karl-Heinz Steffens and his wife pianist Michal Friedlander are the festival's special guests. Among other participants are cellist Zvi Plesser, the Ariel Quartet, the Barrocade Ensemble with soprano Ye'ela Avital and mandolin player Yaki Reuven, and the Tel Aviv Soloists ensemble, among others. The rich and varied program swings from early music to Mozart, Debussi and Bernstein, and even includes Gypsy dances.
