A new translation by Doron Tavori, 'Biedermann and the Firebugs by Max Frisch' will open at the Khan Theater.

In a new translation by Doron Tavori, Biedermann and the Firebugs by Max Frisch (1911-91), directed by Udi Ben Moshe will open at the Khan Theater on March 13.
Upright businessman Biedermann (Yehoyachin Friedlander) is confronted by a couple of arsonists (Liron Barness and Erez Shafrir) who have been setting fires all over town. They take over his attic, filling it with drums of gasoline. Pretty soon, in a hopeless attempt to save himself and his family, he's aiding and abetting them, thereby becoming an accomplice in his own destruction. A Greek chorus of firemen observes the action.
The play is usually seen as a metaphor about the corrosive ability of evil to swallow decency, suggesting that private and public morality are inseparable. The current production is billed as "a funny and threatening satire on social unrest, economic inequality and the dangers of their repression."
