The fine Georgian pianist Elisso Virsaladze, a true heir of the best traditions of the Russian piano school, returns to Israel for a series of concerts with the Israeli Camerata. Virsaladze will perform Beethoven's Second Concerto throughout the country between December 16-23 and will also participate in an all-Schumann chamber program together with the Camerata members on December 22 at the Tel Aviv Museum.
Although she keeps a heavy performance schedule around the world, Berlin-based Virsaladze is also recognized as an exceptional teacher, dividing her duties between the Munich Musik Hochschule and the Moscow Conservatory - whose students have won impressive recognition at competitions.
"I enjoy teaching," explains Virsaladze. "Sometimes you find yourself unable to play and you cancel a concert, but you cannot stop teaching. You help to bring about the hidden possibilities of your students. This is not only music but also human development. Through teaching, I also satisfy my hunger for human relationships."
