The Polish death metal band Behemoth is returning to Israel for its third time and will perform at Tel Aviv's Barby club on August 28. Both of the band's previous local engagements were sold out.
Behemoth formed in 1991 in Gdansk and is credited with helping establish Poland's extreme metal underground. In a recent interview with Israeli media, vocalist Adam Darski said he was a "big fan" of Israel and its history - which isn't surprising, considering the band's use of Hebrew words and letters in its songs and the Middle Eastern sounds that have snuck into its music.
