Iconic alternative rock pioneers the Pixies will head to Israel in the middle of next year for a single concert at a yet unannounced venue.
The Boston-based band, which has been cited as a major influence by many of today's leading indie groups, long ago attained cult status and disappointed many - David Bowie included - when it broke up in 1993.
In the ensuing years rumors of a reunion were widely circulated, but it wasn't until 2004 that Black Francis, Joey Santiago, Kim Deal and David Lovering finally put their differences aside and reunited for a tour.
Deal's band, The Breeders, played a show in Tel Aviv in 2008, to the delight of many Israeli fans.
Limited edition collector's tickets for the Pixies' June 6 concert here are already on sale for NIS 325 apiece. Call (03) 604-5000 or visit Castel Tickets for more details.
