Jerusalemites: Samuel's story

Every time I see Samuel I only have one thing on my mind:

"If you're going to San Francisco, be sure to wear some flowers in your hair..."
“My name is Samuel. I come from San Francisco. I’m fifth generation San Franciscan. I grew up in San Francisco and the only time I went out of the city was when I was in college. I studied political science and religious studies at University of California Davis. Maybe I'll tell you why I like San Francisco... you have everything there. It’s a small area, seven-by-seven miles and you have a beautiful beach, parks, residential areas, high-rise buildings and people from all over the world. Now it’s the second time I am living out of San Francisco. I immigrated three months ago to Jerusalem. It’s fascinating to put my studies into practice and walk in the streets where history takes place. It is one thing to imagine an idea, but to act on it, come to Israel, and see people from all over the world, from 30 different countries, who have emigrated and uprooted their lives, for whatever the reason, is truly beautiful. After 2,000 years of exile, to be a part of “the in gathering of exiles” (Isaiah), is something indescribable."
