I do not like the current occupant of the White House. And I find that I don’t particularly like any of the people who are in the running to replace him. At this point, I’m thinking I may vote for a third party candidate. Some might think that I’m thereby planning to waste my vote. I’m thinking I don’t want to feel as if I need to be decontaminated after I cast the ballot. I mean, I generally vote for the lesser of two evils, but what if it’s a contest between Voldemort and Darth Vader? Am I really limited to just the two choices?
And then I have to endure the stupid memes on Facebook; even the people who I might otherwise agree with politically are posting nonsense about the current occupant or the other candidates that they don’t like. I don’t understand the desire to continue promoting urban legends and hoaxes against people, or to find pictures of them when they were mid-sneeze. Really, is it necessary to dredge up weird conspiracy theories? How is any of this helpful? Are we still in Junior High School? Really? Why isn’t it good enough to simply argue against our opponents’ policies? Their real policies, not strawman arguments?
I’ll be glad when the elections are over. November can’t come soon enough.
