1,400 Border Police Reservists called up in wake of current security crisis

Knesset Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee on Wednesday morning unanimously approved a request by the Ministry of Defense to call up 1,400 Border Police reservist officers in an effort to boost security personnel in the wake of recent violence that has gripped Israel.A Border Police representative said that 850 reservist officers have already been reactivated for duty, and if necessary, the remaining reservist would be available for immediate active service.Red Cross calls for release of hostages in Gaza
