19 people including woman, baby injured in Ramle fire

Nineteen people were seriously injured after a fire broke out in a fourth floor apartment of a residential building on Sderot Raziel in Ramle on Saturday night.

Among the casualties was a seriously injured a woman who reportedly jumped from the apartment in an attempt to escape the fire. An MDA spokesman said special care ambulances came to treat the woman.

The fire also seriously damaged an eight-month-old baby and another man, and two people were slightly injured. A man was also injured by smoke inhalation. They were evacuated to Assaf Harofeh Hospital and Kaplan Medical Center in Rehovot.

Emergency services were concerned that there were more residents trapped in the building. 7 teams of fire services and rescue workers were working to control the fire.
