2 killed as squatters, police clash in south Yemen

ADEN - Armed men trying to seize subsidized apartments clashed with police in south Yemen on Wednesday, killing two, witnesses said, as mass protests swept the country.
Dozens of men tried to take over several apartments in an unfinished state housing project in Sabr, in the southern province of Lahaj. Residents told Reuters that shooting broke out as police tried to stop them.
Two of the squatters were killed, and two squatters and a policeman were wounded.
