250 kg of cocaine from Colombia seized at Ashdod port

The Israel Police intercepted a shipment of high quality cocaine worth over 60 million dollars at Ashdod port last month, it was revealed for publication on Monday.
The raid was carried out by undercover officers, together with Ashdod port customs officers, on a Colombian ship, which was found to be carrying 250 kilograms of cocaine, police spokesman Micky Rosenfeld said.
The drugs were wrapped in plastic and stashed at the bottom of coffee sacks, Rosenfeld added. The raid was carried out on April 20, but could not be publicized due to a media ban.
Two suspects have been arrested in connection with the drugs.
