3 Policemen lightly hurt by rioters at Shuafat refugee camp

Three policeman were lightly injured and one man was arrested in clashes at the entrance to the Shuafat Refugee Camp on Saturday evening.

A handful of Arab residents started rocks and Molotov cocktails at the checkpoint at the entrance of the neighborhood. Patrols of police and border police used force to try to disperse the group.

Two of the policemen were treated on the scene by paramedics, and one was evacuated for additional medical attention.

The checkpoint was also the site of violent confrontations on Thursday night, when eight people were arrested for disturbing the peace during a similar incident of stone throwing. There were no injuries on Thursday.
