3 teens found guilty of sexual offenses against youth

Three youths were found guilty by the Haifa District Court of severe sexual offenses and carrying out horrific abuse against an American-Israeli teenager who had been wrongly sent to the Kishon prison near Haifa in November 2009.

The youth, S, who recently turned 18, was brutally gang raped by juvenile inmates at the Kishon prison, after being placed in a cell together with them for the duration of a weekend while waiting for a remand hearing, the court found.

Before that, he was allegedly beaten by police in Karmiel after being arrested on unclear grounds. Three policemen are currently being prosecuted for allegedly hitting S in custody. They have denied the charges.
