4 policemen wounded in Bahrain explosion, residents say

DUBAI - An explosion shook a village in western Bahrain, wounding four policemen, residents said on Wednesday.
One said that three of the policemen appeared to be seriously wounded by the blast in Diraz, one of the villages outside the capital Manama where there have been frequent pro-democracy protests by majority Shi'ites against the Sunni-Muslim led government.
There was no immediate report of the incident on the state news agency BNA.
On April 9, seven policemen were wounded, three of them seriously, when a home-made bomb exploded during a protest near Manama calling for the release of an activist on a two-month hunger strike.
