80-year-old man crashes into popular cafe in Tel Aviv, injures 4 people

An 80-year-old man lost control of his car in Tel Aviv on Tuesday afternoon, crashing into a popular café that was full of mid-day customers. Four people were wounded in the crash, one moderately, and three lightly.

The four-door car came to a stop just before crashing into the closed-off interior of the “HaTahtit” café on Lincoln Street in the city.

MDA paramedic Adi Zilberstein said that when they arrived at the scene they found the car parked on the walkway outside the café and that patrons of the café said that it looked like the man was trying to park the car when he lost control of it.

MDA said one of the injured was a 40-year-old man with injuries to his chest who was taken to Ichilov Hospital, and three others lightly hurt and treated at the scene.
