Israel Police chief Roni al-Sheikh held a press conference after this morning's terror attack at the Temple Mount, which he described as "a hard day" for the police. "We [the police] had two casualties in this attack," he said, referring to the two officers who were killed in the shootout. Though originally in critical condition, the two men have succumbed to their injuries. Al-Sheikh announced that the police were conducting a thorough search of the compound, which has been closed for the day, to make sure there are no more weapons on the site. He reminded the press that patience is imperative in this endeavor. He also expressed hope that political leaders would not use the "unprecedented attack" to "fan the flames and incite."
