A year in prison for Nation Insurance Institute scam

The Tel Aviv District Court sentenced Rishon Letzion resident Yossef Tzemah, on Sunday, to a year in prison for a string of social insurance frauds.
Tzemah was found guilty of multiple attempts to sway medical committees in order to increase insurance damages claims. In exchange Tzemah gave cash and benefits to doctors who sat on the committees.
Tzemah was fined NIS 185,000 and ordered to pay an additional NIS 100,000 in compensation to the National Insurance Institute.
Two of the doctors involved in the case were fined and given probationary prison sentences.
