Senior Hamas official Mahmoud a-Zahar said in a Friday interview with the Saudi newspaper
Al-Medina that he does not expect any breakthroughs in negotiations for the release of Gilad Schalit while the current Israeli government is in power, Israel Radio reported.
He added that there have been no new developments in the negotiations and he is not aware of any Israeli intention to reopen talks for Schalit's release.
