Abbas signs Rome Statute, paving way for possible war crimes probe against Israel at ICC

Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas on Wednesday signed onto more than 20 international treaties, including the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court.

The move made at a meeting of the Palestinian leadership in Ramallah came after the Palestinian draft resolution to force an Israeli withdrawal to the pre-1967 lines failed to muster the nine votes necessary in the UN Security Council on Tuesday.
