ABC reporter: Australian intelligence leaked Zygier story

The Australian intelligence (ASIO) leaked the details of the Prisoner X affair to the press in the country, ABC reporter Trevor Bormann told Channel 2 News on Monday.
According to Bormann, Zygier was one of three Australian Jews recruited by the Mossad. The three changed their name and got new passports frequently, which caused ASIO to leak their names and the fact they were suspected of working for the Mossad to the Australian media.
When Zygier was confronted by a newspaper in Australia with the allegations, however, he denied any involvement with the Mossad.
"At the time, the relations between ASIO and the Mossad were frosty. [Following the] 2010 assassination of Mahmoud al-Mabhouh, Australia expelled an Israeli diplomat and that really led to a freezing in many ways of dealings between the Mossad and ASIO. So ASIO was most interested in what Zygier had to say about his work with the Mossad," Bormann said.
