Active shooter in California, officer shot in precinct

The officer is reportedly in serious yet stable condition.

A police officer was injured in a shooting incident at a precinct in Paso Robles, California, the San Luis Obispo (SLO) County Sheriff's office said Wednesday morning local time.

The officer is reportedly in serious, but stable condition and was airlifted to a trauma center. A shelter-in-place order has been announced in the city. 

According to the local police department, the shooting has stopped and SWAT and SED are carrying out a "systematic search."
The suspect remains at large.

County Sheriff's office later put out a press release on behalf of the Paso Robles Police Department saying that a body discovered four hours after the shooting incident near an amtrak station is suspected to be related to the shooting incident.
The victim, allegedly a man in his 40s, was shot in the head at close range, according to
the SLO County Sheriff's office.
"Investigators believe the homicide is related to the shooting incident this morning that is being investigated by the Sheriff's Office.

he SLO County Sheriff's office wrote.
