ADL calls on Cuba to release USAID subcontractor

The Anti-Defamation League (ADL) called on the government of Cuba Wednesday to release US-Jewish citizens Alan Gross, who been in prison there for over two years.
We call on the Cuban Government to release Mr. Gross immediately on humanitarian grounds and as a gesture of good will to the American people, as he has been in prison for two long years," a statement by ADL National Director Abraham H. Foxman said.
Gross, a subcontractor for the USAID was arrested in 2009 but sentenced to 15 years in prison for subversion in 2011. The US State Department said that Gross was in the island nation to help the Jewish community there gain Internet access.
