After hunger strike, Palestinian prisoner's condition said to show improvement

Hospital officials at Barzilai Medical Center said on Thursday that the condition of Muhammad Allan, the Palestinian who ended a 65-day hunger strike after the High Court of Justice ordered his release from administrative detention, has improved.
According to Barzilai officials, Allan is conscious and breathing on his own power.
"He is receiving all of the vital and necessary treatment, some of which is aimed at restoring the extreme deficiencies that are causing serious disturbances in bodily functions," Barzilai said in a statement. "After the High Court decision, we are working to gain his approval to administer all of the necessary treatments and to begin gradually and carefully feeding him orally."
