AG to probe alleged sex crimes of top Nazareth judge

Attorney-General Yehuda Weinstein has decided to push forward with an investigation into the possible involvement of Judge Yitzhak Cohen, Chief Justice of the Nazareth District Court, in a string of sex crimes.
Israel Police will open an investigation in the coming days and call the top Nazareth judge in for questioning.
Claims against Cohen are based on testimony that alleges the judge sexually harassed family relatives while they were still minors.
Justice Minister Tzipi Livni has called on Supreme Court President Asher Grunis to suspend Cohen until the case against him is closed.
Last month, the judge announced he would be taking a leave of absence, while the investigation was pending. He informed Livni of his decision to take his vacation early, after the Attorney-General said he was considering opening a criminal investigation.
Cohen has denied the allegations, calling them baseless.
