Ahmadinejad: If you are going to impose sanctions, go and do it

Ahmadinejad If you want

Diane Sawyer was all business on a busy first day as anchor of ABC News' flagship evening newscast on Monday, the centerpiece of which was an interview with Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, conducted over the weekend. Sawyer confronted Ahmadinejad on a supposed "smoking gun" document that tied Iran to development of nuclear weapons. The Iranian president, who referred to Sawyer as "respectable lady," said the document was a fabrication, adding that the world's criticism of his country's nuclear ambitions was "a repetitive and tasteless joke." "They tell us, 'Let's negotiate.' Then from the other hand, they are saying 'sanctions are coming.' They show the stick," he told Sawyer, whom he called a "respectable lady." "We don't welcome confrontation, but we don't surrender to bullying either … If you are saying you are going to impose sanctions, then go and do it."
