Ahmadinejad: Iran can produce mass amount of energy

Iran enjoys a mass amount of energy and has the ability to produce more, Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said on Monday during a ceremony for the inauguration of a 484 megawatt solar and thermal combined cycle power plant, according to a Press TV report which quoted IRNA.

“Iran has a very high capacity to produce energy We have a very high capacity in the field of oil and gas, which can be converted to different energy types," Ahmadinejad said at the plant in the central province of Yazd which is the first combined-cycle plant to used natural gas and solar energy.

"In addition to that, we can make use of the endless solar energy, especially in the center of the country."

Iran is able to supply the needed electricity of its neighbors to the east and west by exporting electricity to the surrounding region, Ahmadinejad added.
