Ahmadinejad: We'll buy enriched uranium from "whoever will sell"

Iran offers to buy enric

Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad announced Wednesday that his country would be willing to allow a third party to enrich uranium for the Isamic republic's nuclear facilities, AFP reported. "As I said in New York, we need enriched uranium at a percentage of 19.75%, and we are offering to buy it from whoever will sell it to us," Ahmadinejad reportedly said. He added that fuel needed to be procured for a plant in Teheran, reported to be a small nuclear research facility. The Iranian leader stated that he would raise the proposal during his upcoming meeting with officials from the five permanent member states of the UN Security Council members and Germany scheduled to take place in Geneva on Thursday. Despite the new initiative, Iranian officials have made clear that the country's "nuclear rights" would not be up for discussion.
