Air pollution levels drop in central Israel, but remains high in South

Following a Tuesday in which air pollution levels had reached up to 38 times their normal concentrations around the South and Center, the Environmental Protection Ministry said on Wednesday that pollution levels had subsided from the Gush Dan and northward on Wednesday, due to the heavy rains.
Nonetheless, air pollution levels remained high in the South, the ministry said. In this region, the ministry recommended refraining from strenuous physical activities.
