AKIM: G'vnt must better supervise those with disabilities

The Association for the Habilitation of the Intellectually Disabled (AKIM) called on the government to significantly increase their supervision of those with intellectual disabilities following the arrest of over 70 medical practitioners from a Petah Tikva private mental health institute on Wednesday.

In a statement released on Thursday, AKIM expressed their shock at the criminal acts perpetrated against the patients, especially at the hand of persons responsible for caring for them.

AKIM called on the state to increase the number of supervisors caring for the intellectually disabled.
