The government has taken into consideration the likelihood that a few of the released prisoners in a possible deal for captured IDF soldier Gilad Schalit will return to their terrorist activities, Maj.-Gen. (res.) Amos Gilad, the Defense Ministry's diplomatic-military bureau chief, said in an interview with Israel Radio on Tuesday.
"Those involved are weighing the various considerations, including the future security of Israeli citizens," Gilad said.
Regarding threats made earlier Tuesday by senior Hamas official in Lebanon Osama Hamdan to kidnap more IDF soldiers, Gilad said that "there have always been and always will be threats against Israel."
