'Anat Kamm Law' passes first hearing in Knesset

A law pertaining to the holding and transfer of confidential information without intent to harm state security passed its first hearing in the Knesset Monday, according to Army Radio.
The bill, which became known as the "Anat Kamm Law", was proposed by Kadima MK Othniel Schneller. If it passes, the law would set a 10-year maximum penalty for the offense.Schneller said Monday that "the bill is designed to prevent leaks of secret information that could hurt the security of the country. National security is more important than freedom of information."
