German Chancellor Angela Merkel met with Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas (Abu Mazen), Ynet reported Thursday.
According to the report, Merkel said that Germany still believes that a two-state solution is the only way to solve the Israeli-Palestinian conflict so the two nations "could live in peace and security."
Abbas stressed Germany's important role in Middle Eastern politics and thanked Merkel for the aid Germany provides to the Palestinian Authority.
