Arab-Israeli man stabbed in J’lem hour after W. Bank attack

An Arab-Israeli man was stabbed in the ultra-Orthodox neighborhood of Mea Shearim in Jerusalem Tuesday morning, approximately one hour after a terrorist attack that resulted in the death of Evyatar Borovsky, at a northern West Bank junction.

A suspect in the murder of Borovsky was arrested and identified by police as Salem Za’al, 24, from a village near Tulkarm. Borovsky, a 32-year-old resident of Kfar Hasidim, had been living in Yitzhar with his wife and five children.

According to Israel Police Spokesman Micky Rosenfeld, despite the close chronology of the two stabbings, the incidents are presently considered unrelated.

“We believe there’s no connection between the terrorist attack at Tapuah Junction and [the attack in Mea Shearim], which is considered to be a criminal or local matter, and not a retaliation attack,” said Rosenfeld.
