Arab League chief set to visit West Bank

Arab League Secretary-General Nabil al-Arabi was set to visit the Palestinian territories on December 29, Palestinian news agency Ma'an reported Friday.
According to the report, al-Arabi will meet with Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas to discuss pledges made by the Arab League to ease the PA's financial crisis.
The League to date has failed to deliver on its promise to provide financial aid, forcing the PA to borrow $100 million to pay the November salaries of public sector employees.
According to Ma'an, al-Arabi also will discuss with Abbas the PA's next move following its admission last month as a non-member state to the UN.
