Arab League hopes for political deal in Libya

CAIRO - The Arab League said on Monday it hoped for an end to military operations in Libya so a political solution could be reached to the conflict there, the Egyptian state news agency reported.
"We hope that there is an end to these military operations so we are able to realize a political settlement," League official Hesham Youssef was quoted as saying by the agency.
Youssef was speaking ahead of his departure for a London conference on Libya, the agency added. Youssef is due to head the Arab League's delegation to the conference.
