Army convicts, reprimands Imad Faris

Army Radio reported Monday the conclusion of Brigadier General Imad Faris' military trial. Maj.-Gen. Benny Gantz convicted Faris with crimes involving military documents and not fulfilling orders, sentencing him to a reprimand and a warning.
Imad Faris, one of the highest-ranking Druse officers in the army, was commander of the Galilee Division, which is deployed along the border with Lebanon. He resigned from the IDF last year after admitting to lying in a car accident report, but was recently asked to return.
