Army reservist benefits for the self-employed passes early vote

Legislation increasing benefits for army reservists who are self-employed passed a preliminary Knesset vote Wednesday.
According to the bill, self-employed reservists will receive 25 percent more than the current salary for a day of reserve duty.
MK Yoav Kisch (Likud), who proposed the bill, explained that "small business owners who leave their business to do reserve duty pay a higher price and sometimes incur long-term damage to their businesses."
That potential harm, Kisch said, is a damaging distraction from their service to the country.
