Arrest remand for flotilla violence suspect Raed Salah

Shiekh Raed Salah, arrested as a participant of the Gaza protest flotilla after allegedly attacking IDF soldiers boarding it, has been remanded Tuesday for seven more days in custody by the Ashkelon Magistrate Court, Army Radio reported.
Salah, who heads the Islamic Movement's northern branch, is suspected of possessing a weapon and serious assault on the IDF commando soldiers who boarded the vessel he was on Monday.
His arrest and remand took place in a tense atmosphere around the Ashkelon court, with his family members exchanging verbal blows with protesters who called them terrorists and chanted "Go back to Gaza."
