Court rules not to release more info on intel officer who died in prison

The Military Court of Appeals decided on Monday not to publish more information on an IDF intelligence officer who died in a military prison in May.

The officer, Cpt. T, was behind bars for knowingly committing offenses that caused “severe damage to national security,” the IDF said in June.

The president of the court of appeals stated that this was an exceptional case, due to its nature and severity, as well as the great public interest. However, the court found that the disclosure of additional details would lead, "with a near degree of certainty, to an unparalleled serious injury to national security."
