A total of 4,916 Israelis tested positive for COVID-19 on Thursday, the Health Ministry reported on Friday morning.
The number is nearly a thousand more than on Wednesday, as Omicron is spreading rapidly.
Currently, 93 Israelis are in serious condition, 37 of whom are on ventilators.
The death toll currently stands at 8,243.
A total of 4,239,818 Israelis have received three doses of the COVID-19 vaccine, while 5,917,321 have gotten two and 6,558,921 have gotten one.
