Russian Embassy in Canberra evacuated due to 'suspicious package'

The Russian Embassy in Canberra was evacuated on Thursday after a suspicious package containing a white powder was delivered to the site, according to Sky News Australia.

The content of the package is currently being assessed.

On Monday, an envelope containing white powder and a threatening note was sent to the Russian Embassy in  Wellington, according to The Australian. The powder in that incident was found to be non-hazardous.
