An IRGC soldier fatally shot four of his fellow Iranian service members in the southern port city of Bandar Bushehr and was arrested by Iranian forces, state-owned news agency Tasnim reported on Monday.
A member of the Iranian navy, the soldier's reasons for the killings are unknown, IRGC Colonel Gholam Hossein Hosseini told Tasnim. Hossein said the soldier was arrested in a "surprise operation" in cooperation with other Iranian security forces.
The incident is being investigated "in order to clarify the case and the legal process," IRGC navy's spokesperson reportedly said.
